Emergency Lock Rekey

Few things settle the mind like knowing exactly who can open your front door. Not knowing leaves a constant low hum of worry.

Rekeying is worth doing even when the locks are in perfect condition: if there is any chance another person holds a key, or you have just bought the house, the locks should be reset.

Good reasons to rekey right away:

  • Someone who should no longer have access to your home still has a key
  • Your keys are lost and you have no idea where they went
  • You have just moved into the property

Our technicians rekey homes across the Lehigh Valley and in Berks, Bucks, Lehigh, Montgomery and Northampton counties. Phone (484) 237-1233 today and we will reset the locks, cut your new keys and give you back the certainty you were missing.

How Rekeying Works

Inside each lock cylinder is a row of small pins cut to match your key. Rekeying swaps those pins for a new set and cuts new keys to match. The lock stays on the door and looks the same, but every old key stops working.

Because the hardware stays, rekeying is usually quicker and costs less than replacing locks, and every lock in the house can be set to work with one key.

Rekey Today If

  • Keys were lost or stolen, especially with your address or car nearby
  • A roommate, tenant, contractor or former partner still has a key
  • You just moved in and have no idea how many copies exist
  • A garage door opener or key was taken from your car

If a lock is worn out or damaged, rekeying will not fix that. In that case we will recommend a repair or a new lock instead.
